This Privacy Policy explains what information Aurian Client ("the Client", "Aurian", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. We are committed to transparency — this document reflects exactly what data we touch and why.

1. What We Collect

Hardware Identifier (HWID)

Aurian Client collects your device's hardware identifier (HWID) for the purpose of authentication and abuse prevention. This is a non-reversible identifier tied to your machine, not to your personal identity. It is used to verify that the Client is running on a legitimate installation and to detect and block unauthorized copies or bad actors.

Minecraft Username

Your Minecraft username may be logged when you launch the Client to associate your session with your HWID for support and moderation purposes.

Client Version & Launch Data

We collect the version of Aurian you are running and basic launch information (e.g., Minecraft version, launcher type). This is used to ensure compatibility and to understand which versions are actively being used.

2. What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect your real name, email address, or any contact information.
  • We do not collect your IP address for tracking purposes.
  • We do not collect gameplay data, chat messages, or in-game actions.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising.
  • We do not use cookies or browser tracking of any kind.

3. How We Use Your Data

The data we collect is used exclusively for:

  • Authentication — ensuring only legitimate users can run the Client.
  • Abuse prevention — banning HWIDs associated with unauthorized use or policy violations.
  • Version tracking — understanding which builds are in active use to prioritize updates.
  • Support — helping diagnose issues when you reach out to us directly.

4. Data Storage & Security

Collected data is stored securely and access is restricted to AurianStudio team members on a need-to-know basis. We do not store data in plaintext and take reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized access.

5. Data Retention

We retain HWID and session data for as long as your account is in good standing or as needed for abuse prevention purposes. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove it unless retention is required to enforce a ban or comply with applicable law.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to the exceptions above).
  • Ask questions about how your data is handled.

7. Children's Privacy

Aurian Client is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Client after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
